DeskTop Dyno

If i remember correctly (i bought the 2003 version), it cost me $45 at large book store (maybe Barnes & Noble ?). I assume the newer versions are even better (i read awhile back about one of the newer versions having a much larger database with large # of cam specs (cam cards) from multiple manufactures, etc)(this one still works perfect, even though it's been through Windows 95,Me & Xp). I also assume that all major book stores either stock it or could order it...check online. Maybe even the "Checker Auto" type stores might carry that kind of stuff now ?? It came with a very informative book,on the subject of dynos & engine effeciencies in general. Way worth it.
Looks like my new 454 (built for low-end grunt and fuel mileage) (LOL, fuel mileage on a 454, LOL) (9.5:1 flat tops, almost zero head space (good squish), pocket ported oval truck heads, heads angle decked to even up and get to 9.5:1 minus light relief around valve areas, (had to have intake manifold angle decked slightly to get everything to match perfectly) Edelbrock Performer intake (intake, heads & headers are all port matched)(head intake ports were not hogged out, but, smoothed up (same with intake manifold), then both ports lightly textured with small wire wheel (VERY light on the aluminum, lol), Comp Cams x4 254H-11 and matching springs,etc..(i ran a butt-load of different cams through the dyno program), the chambers & piston tops polished & a cleaned up "Carter" branded quadra-jet (780 cfm, i think ??)... gives about 520 lb/ft at 2200 rpm (at flywheel) (560 lb/ft at 3000 "max"). HP goes flat 4200 rpm and starts falling off after 4500 rpm..but there is still a lot there at 5000. I expect no worse mileage than my 400 sb with same carb, no headers and factory duel exhaust ????? but, a buttload more grunt... we'll see, LOL

Soon as I get the head on, my engine mounts and driveline back I will get this mother on the dyno and let you know. It was a total bitch fitting it under the hood. The Jap guy that sold it to me sayd it made 5,608,312 ft'lbs at 102rpm . But jees..... Who can beleve a used engine salesman?

Ahhh yes the worlds most powerful diesel engine... Printed that out about 5-6 years ago.. Incredible torque at very little revs PM..

610 from the factory when it's riding on the trailer behind my Dodge. :haha:

not really sure i hope its over 300 with engine mods but will dyno, once it gets the chip tuned :D

My little 305 is mostly stock but I expect it to have about 275 foot pounds.

Its not a truck 305, its a L69 out of a Firebird (Yeah, like thats much better)
