how not to port and polish, link to original thread

that's funny hahaha I also used gear oil when my rear seal was pouring fluid out. it made it a good ways too

Thats exactly what we heard, 'cept all we ran was 5.5 quarts atf. Could have been the straw that broke the camels back. Also a connecting rod came out BLUE, like a royal blue color.

I had a friend ( not a very good mechanic ) that put an aluminum intake on his small block,,,

the intake gasket slipped on one side in the back,,

He used a garden hose to fill the radiator,,yup,,
water started pouring from the dip stick tube and valve covers....:haha:

Someone who will remain nameless to protect their identity:

Filled oil in car until it was "topped off".
Added motor oil to lawn mower until it was "topped off".
Unable to turn lawn mower, decided to use a hack saw to cut the metal plate off the top of the mower. Never could fix it after that either.

its hard 2 believe 12lbs. of sand would run thru an engine b4 it would give up the ghost,...much less driving afterwards! just a handful of dirt in a carb, or a few(20-30) bb's will ruin an engine in short order..10-20 mins. i've seen it when people get mad at other drivers and sabotage pursues....1/2 of a 25lb. bag....no way.....hafta see it 2 beleive it....when you get ur motor rebuilt let me know...and show me..put the other 1/2 bag thru....and i wouldnt let that friend work on my tricycle from now on.... just hondas can eat sand?

nobody is that stupid....are they?

my freshman year of college, a few guys built a 350 in their 4th floor dorm room.

:haha: Im currently building a 350 for my chevelle in my dorm room. only difference is that I live on ground level with no stairs between my room and outside so I can roll the stand all the way. we plan on stabbin in the car in the parking lot.:D

I got that email like 4 times today don't know the source but it sounds like somebody stupid could do that

That was the best story ever. Ever. I'm still laughing, coffee almost came out of my nose. Retarded people are here for our amusement. You do realize my almost 4 yr old knows to not do things like that...

this is hilarious

Hey guys, I've got a 98 1.8T. I've had a k04 and chip for a while and wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.
I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't make boost and it get sucked in the turbo. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises.
Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does Hondas so he doesn't know much about Audis.

Gets my vote for the CK5 Darwin Award.

Filling the motor completely full of oil must be a common thing. I have a cousin who did that her freshman year in school. I would of thought her dad would of taught her how to check and add oil but that just shows how much of a winner he is...
