didnt start till 4pm, still managed to fix the truck, diagnose a siezed alternator on my dads car, mow the lawn... and oh yeah, burn my camaro to the ground.

hadnt start and run it for a few weeks, so i figured id let it idle while i mowed the lawn. turned around and followed a column of smoke back to the camaro engulfed in flames 4 feet over the roof of the car. had dad call 911 while i used a fire extinguisher and a garden hose to put out the flames. It seems to have been an electrical fire in the passenger footwell. thankfully the damage under the hood is minimal. so i can salvage the engine/trans.

lol, keepin the 6.2 in the truck, but might build a sweet 383 tuned port and put it on craigslist for someone lookin to repower a truck.

and yeah, my dad was thankfull i put the fire out as soon as i did, his taurus was parked right next to the camaro, no collateral damage, but i did start a brush fire that i put out when i did the car.

im tryin to look on the bright side. ive been over the camaro for a while, its been a money pit, wasnt selling on craigslist, was driving my parents nuts sitting in the driveway, and was gonna cost an arm and a leg to put back together and sell proper, which is money i can now spend on the blazer instead :thumb:

As a long time lover of Camaros (even 3rd gens), I am sorry for your loss.

Here's a pic of the last one (87) I built and along side my friends 68.

WOW.. Man that sucks. Good thing you caught it when you did. Could have been way worse.

Damn, bummer man.

Least it sounds like you have insurance.

thanks all.

no insurance much to my dismay. had been thinking about it for a while. but never got around to it. let that be a lesson to us all.

and i do love the camaros, as much of a mullet mobile as it was i couldnt drive the car without smiling. But ill never buy another third gen after the last two screwed me so bad.

although ive always had a thing for chevelles.... small block 1965, big block 1970, maybe its time to graduate to a full frame hotrod :)

Sucks to hear, and glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I will say that I like the 3rd gen Camaro's and have been wanting to pick one up for a DD. Not sure I can convince the wife to allow me to have more stuff at the house. Of course the convincing will be easier if I just call her one day and say I need you to go with me to pick up a car.:haha:
