We have a 7' door. The old blazer was on 39.5's and 6" or so of lift and needed to be aired down, it was roughly 7'4" I think (could be wrong).
Push the front axle as far forward as you can, and take some of the lift out. Otherwise you'll never have a chance. That's why I built my new one as short as it is...so it can fit in the garage at fire road pressure.

12 inches is a small door.
The car before that was a 1980 Fiat spider with 13" tires. I pulled that 4 wheel drive lever every chance I got. Now I wheel it about 4 times a year.
