How to get studs out of water pump

Just changed my water pump, but its got four studs that the fan bolts to...how can I get these out? They are threaded studd and I don't really have any way to tur nthem without messing up the threads...Anyone just used bolts?

On my 75, my fan is BOLTED to the water pump with bolts.

double nut it with a washer between the 2 nuts tighten them together and then put your wrench on the bottom one and screw it out

That is what I do, too.(double nut) But if you cant get them out new studs are cheap, look in your parts store's "Help" section.

Yep, you can either double-nut 'em or use a stud wrench. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I bought new ones from auto zone for a couple of dollars when i couldnt get my old ones out.

Thanks, just double nutted them and they came out...
