hey guys so ive been prep. my truck and myself for making my OBA setup with my york v-twin compressor now since they are a little more bulky to mount up and down on a 350 i was wondering if anybody has ever put a v-twin on a v8 or anypics of any engine with the v-twin compressor on it????

this would help me alot!!! thanx guys

Thats still a single piston a/c compressor. Not a "V-Twin" like you think.

Actually, I seem to recall the York I blew up had two pistons in it. Mind you, it's the basic square York shape and not a vee-twin *shape* ... but anyway.

First york I had for my OBA was one of these. Didn't work, tore it apart thinking I might be able to fix for cheap....wrong, broke piston. Anyways, there was only one piston in it :dunno:

Actually, i've played with one of those many years ago and it IS a 2 cylinder compressor. However IIRC the commonly used York for OBA puts out more CFM than the V-twin design.

All of the ones i've seen where mounted directly on top and in the center of the engine. Chrysler commonly used that compressor in the 70's so maybe hit up a wrecking yard and look for brackets or at the least ideas.

ya i have all the brackets and what not i pulled it off a lebaron chrysler was the only ones to use the v-twin ones or so ive heard... they mount diff thats for sure just didnt knwo if anyone was running one on this board or not haha guess not... ill jsut have to fab
