How to remove trim, molding, and glass on a Suburban? Prepping for paint.

Driver side is done. Flipped it around so I could work on the other side. I need a bigger garage... Anyway, i took a bunch of pics cause I haven't been able to get a good pic in the garage with my phone so I played with the settings. I'll come back and edit these after I figure out what settings work best.

Im going to get another one (i only have one chevy hubcap) So that i can swap this set of wheels to and from the gmc and the burb and have caps for both situation!

mask off those bumper supports and paint them black...do it! Now!!! :haha:

I got to get mine into Maaco soon....I heard from three people that they got a guy right now that is a high end painter that is working at Maaco to put food on the table. Heard that from 3 different paint supply and body stores.

Apparently he is well known...and needs the work. They all said if you went there and he sprayed it you'd get a top notch job.

I need to get this thing in there and pay for the premium job.

All done. Only thing I left in was the wind windows, the back door small glass, and the glass in the barn doors. I still might pull the barn door glass but I'm paranoid about breaking them sinse I broke one last time... One thing I did this time was i pulled the window felts and seals, then I rolled the windows back up. Figured it would mess with their ability to mask, but would keep at least a little bit of the crap out.

The back door will come out pretty easy. Don't pry on them. Just use your palm and push out on a top corner then with the other hand pull the gasket down and roll it out. Then you just wd 40 and rope them back in.

Lol i pulled them out last time. Its the opposite of easy. I broke one last time. I just tried pulling them again. I think they are staying in this time... I'll try one more time but I'm going to be pissed when i break one.

1BEATK5 brought me my 4th wheel today and then me and pinsco63 and his brother got it loaded up on the trailer.

Damn, those Maaco guys are good! They did an incrediable job painting a perfect ghost GMC pickup in the side of your Suburban! Ghost GMC instead of Ghost flames! I like that! :waytogo:

Just about excited to work on this thing again. Going to wait at least 30 days this time before i put the new seals and some of the other stuff on. Just in case. In the mean time, there is plenty to do... I need to make a list. With the nice weather getting to being here, it reminds me of how good i felt on this day,
