How to remove trim, molding, and glass on a Suburban? Prepping for paint.

Finally did something with the burb today! First and most importantly, I "cleaned" and vacuumed the inside and organized it. I had never really cleaned the inside after I got it back the first time. Then, tearing it down the second time I just kinda threw everything in there without regard for anything. So, funny enough, it was actually significant progress... Anyway, after that I got the barn doors put mostly back together.

lol

Yes im happy with it. I have had it back for over a month now and nothing seems to be going bad. Its still only a MAACO paint job with cheap paint and marginal body work. Yours will be Very nice im sure! When this all started i only wanted one thing: for it to not look like crap. I didnt really care if it looked "good". With that in mind, it could look a whole lot worse and i would still be satisfied. As it is, its an obvious cheap paint job from between 10-20ft away in the right light. Closer than that or further than that and anything other than the "right light", and it looks downright nice! Its tough to say if it looked better this goo around or the last. Either way, i accomplished (or am in the process of accomplishing) my goal of making it not look lke crap. I think once its all finished up and on the road complete, people that like chevys/burbs, wil see it driving around and think, "nice truck".

Thanks! Fingers crossed! I'm pretty sure that I started to notice them at the 1 month mark last time. That's why I have waited so long to start the reassemble process this time.

It's been really slow! I have mostly just been busy elsewhere in life. Combine that with me working 2nd shift (2:30-11:00) and hard of a time I have waking up in the morning before work to do stuff to it, has just made for a slow period. This week tho, I'm setting my alarm for 8:00am and starting back up on it. Don't want to waste these precious summer months! And yes, the two trucks are fairly similar in color!

I hear that, just living life takes up a lot of time and gets in the way of projects sometimes. With our new addition I am finding myself not getting anything done other than sitting in the living room surfing the forums while babysitting new baby and the wife as she recovers. I pretty much accepted the fact that I am not going to get a damn thing done this summer which I figured that would be the case with the new little one. Probably not even a fishing trip this summer . Hell, the wife barely lets me out of the house long enough to go outside to mow the grass…..Oh, well it will be worth it in the end :D.

Looking forward to your burb being back in one piece.

Thanks pal! Enjoy your time with the little one! They only get older. My wife and i need to get going on that "project" as well. We've been together 6 years now and feel the time is getting close to "right" .
