Im going to be putting in MileMarker's part time kit for the NP203 (Part #501). I called MileMarker today and they told me that I probably would be ok with there part time kit, but told me that if I drive the truck alot, I should buy there shaft kit. The kit is about $285 bucks and Im really wondering if Im going to need it. I plan on running 35s. Not going to be doing anything radical, just normal wheeling. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Of course they told you ,you need the 285.00 part instead of the 39.95 part, I think you could break the cheap kit and replace it 9 times before spending that much money... I have to install the cheap kit tommorow and will be lucky if my stupid ass will have it ready by BB02..... /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Thats kinda what I thought too, they just wanted to sell some expensive parts. I think Im going to go with the part time kit, good luck on your install.
Thanks.

I cracked mine open today and I already have the kit in there you wanna buy mine it's brand new? It cost me 39.00 make me an offer...

Thanks for the offer, but I bought mine with my hubs yesterday at 4WP. Otherwise I would, can you take it back?

You don't need that shaft. MM was trying to "shaft" you for more $$$. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

I installed the MM kit in a '75 Ford with a 203 way back in high school and today the 203 is still running strong. Probably has around 100K on it after the conversion. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

We blew the part time kit right out of a '203 while on the sand dunes. Had multiple ventilation holes thru the aluminum housing. That was with the cheap kit, know someone that broke one of the expensive kits as well. Then another guy actually broke the chain once.

havent had any probs with my cheap kit yet /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

knock knock on wood... /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

I have the cheap kit in both trucks. So far no problems but I would like to upgrade the trail truck to the shaft kit. What number did you call for Mile marker?

Thanks for all the info guys, the phone # for Mile Marker is 800-886-8647. Hope this helps.
