Are these hub caps for a 2wd drive vehicle?

Do the ones for a 4wd have a hole for the locking hubs or do people just cut out the centers?

Trivia- Factory front hub caps are not punched if it has an NP203. No need, since front hubs are fixed.

Actually it's not the locking hub that requires the hole, the hub itself sticks out too far to be covered by the hub cap.
Same thing with auto hubs on my 84 suburban, it sticks out 3" past the cap

Was the dodge hub shorter, shallower?
Weren't they all d44?
Just a couple of pics for reference - late ‘70’s Dodge W200 axle and a mid-seventies Ramcharger ( note the half ton’s had the small lug bolt pattern - it was not Dodges greatest idea…).

So it wasn't just the d60 in the dodge trucks but the d44 as well that had the solid hub.
Good to know
Dodge dropped that D44 hubless design once the 203’s went away in ‘79 until the new ‘94 models came out.

I’ve never seen a Dodge unit bearing D60 until the 1994 models - all the older stuff had proper spindles and hubs on the D60/70 front axles.

So, if I were to modify those caps to mount on front wheels, 1) it wouldn’t look totally wrong, and 2) is probably easier than finding 3/4 or 1 ton caps with holes?

I’ve done it to a couple sets, pretty much for the same 2 reasons you point out.

Doesn’t look wrong to me, YMMV. I’ve used a hole saw and a jig saw. Hole saw benefitted from a block of wood underneath to keep the drill bit centered if that makes sense.

@sweetk30 Really haven’t made a plan yet. May not go with hub caps, but just considering it. Could use a hole saw or lathe/mill and then a die and sander to clean up the hole for the factory look/feel. Are they plastic or metal?
