Pressurize the cooling system with a radiator tester. Pressure should hold if not bad head, gasket, Bad gas will just make it run like ****.

It's sat for long enough that I wouldn't blame the head gasket right away.

Get some new gas in it (maybe pull the old stuff out and mix it with gas in some other vehicle), run it for a while and see what happens.

i'm gonna drop the tank and clean it first,i got some b12 spray for the lines.i'll do the pressure check second like i said i have whole top end gasket set.i even got new front end parts tierods, draglink, balljoints and brakes because my wife is gonna drive it for a little while(she wants a tahoe)
thanks for the help guys

pics are in the suburban forum
