Hummer H3T vs. Chevy 2500HD

I have an 07 Classic with an LBZ, and if I drive it nice I can easily get 22 mpg highway (which is almost 700 miles on a 30 gallon tank), and about 16 mpg city. My Father daily drives an 08 2500HD with a 6.0L / 6L80E and gets half the mileage at best.

Loaded the LBZ is a way better truck too, I can pull approx 12 000lbs behind my truck and still get better than 18 mpg highway. Dad's 6.0L gets about 4 mpg with the same load. We went on a 500 mile trip the other day, both hauling the same load, and he used three tanks of fuel while I used about 3/4s of one.

The fact that diesel is consistantly 20 cents per litre cheaper is a wonderful advantage as well. Costs me $80.00 to fill my truck vs $100.00 for Dad's truck.

yeah im leaning towards a 06-07 dmax, i like that body style more anyway and im finding lots of them for under 30k and they are loaded with low miles.

the h1 products have no interchangeability or compatibility with the Hummer brand. Aside from a name and a grill trademark they have nothing in common.

lol, no no, i know that, my post was lamenting that fact. I wish they all had the geared hubs, but i know they dont.

I have an 07 classic Dmax and I love it! For some reason though, mine only gets about 16 mpg (wonder why that is.......VROOM!) but, that's a lot better than I would get with a gasser! The new body style ones are really nice (I like the new Sierra) but, I like mine better since it doesn't have all the new emmissions garbage. If you do any towing, I would go with a 2500 and I highly recommend the Duramax! But, if ya aren't gonna do enough to justify a Duramax, I'd still recommend the 2500HD 6.0 over the H3T for a few reasons: more space (both interior space and bed space), beefier drivetrain (6.0/4L80E (or is it 4L85E now?)/14BFF), higher payload capacity, higher towing capacity, bigger brakes, etc. With all the incentives nowadays, I bet ya can get out way below $42K!
