Hydraulic Assist Without X-over??

Have any of you done a hydraulic assist without a cross-over setup? How well does it work?

1982 K5 Silverado.

327 SHPE powerplant SM465/205,15"custom lift 38.5"TSL/SWAMPERS 12boltrearD44 front,3.73 gears.

We've done a couple of them and they work just fine, Hell they worked great for what they were used for. But that was a street and mud truck. where no articulation was needed.
