Hoping someone else has had it happen and can confirm my suspicion. I've had a brake master fail, and it was similar, but not identical. Closed system, I figure it can't be intermittent and NOT be an internal leak?
Finally got the heater core replaced. Took truck out to the woods. At one point I went to depress the pedal and it wasnt there. There was zero resistance to pushing it. Basically like the pedal was just hanging there, connected to nothing. Tried to pump it up, but got nothing. Few minutes later, acts fine, like nothing is wrong. Awhile later, gone again. I shifted without its clutch as much as I could, but for the next two days of light driving it never occurred again. Still fluid in the reservoir, no leaks I could see.
I replaced the slave fairly recently as it was leaking, but the master is probably circa y2k. Plus sat for 8 months without being used.
Anyone else experienced the same?
Oh, and gotta love old rigs. Same trip... Alternator/water pump ribbed belt decided to disappear (inspected prior, no issues) luckily noticed the gauge before voltage went to nothing, and had a spare. Drivers door lock decided to randomly stick so you can't operate it with the switch or by hand. Tailgate key switch decided to completely stop working. Gas tank vent worked when tested a couple weeks back when I changed the fuel pump, but still building up pressure inside the tank.
