Hydro Assist Without Crossover?

I know after looking at diagrams that you can do major damage to components by running OE steering and hydraulic assist, but 6.2blazer's post intrigues me...anyone have a forklift or a big rock handy? I'm almost positive it's left, because the drag link at the point it attaches to the pitman arm would be well ahead of where it should be normally if the driver's side was at full droop...however, in the factory configuration, he's quite right about the pitman arm being pulled backwards when the axle droops. The only thing I can think of to counter this is that I don't think that the pitman arm would be pulled as far as it appears, and if you were in such a situation, the axle would "steering" itself right anyways, so you should be able to turn right. Like I said, I'm going to go to crossover steering anyways, but does anybody else have input on this? I'm curious now.

Yes when the drivers side tire is drooped you have difficulty turning left. The reason you can't turn is rarely due to power but simply the geometry of the system is at its max.

Just remembered I still had my stock 4wd steering box, draglink, and D60 arm still all attached together under the workbench

Yes, I'm an idiot............you cannot turn right when the driver's side is at full droop
