As the title states, I drove past a truck that looked like an LBZ, thinking to my self there’s no way I went back and looked and sure enough it’s a CCSB 4X4 LBZ black exterior on grey cloth, ‘07, 149k, its everything I could hope for, no mods other than some wheels and a bed liner. I haggled a little and walked out when they wouldn’t deal and ended up with a phone call saying they’d settle for 19k. I’m ecstatic, hopefully everything goes correctly with financing tomorrow.

I freaking love diesels, no I don’t need one practically but mentally it’s a need, I’ve had a half ton for 17mos and hate it. In the test drive I kicked this thing out under throttle and hearing that turbo sing gave me a chub, hopefully all goes as planned tomorrow. :woot:

Please pass the green nozzel!

Thanks! I went back to work and have been crazy busy, I did find time to order a Magnaflow 5” system for it, got the windows tinted. Can’t wait to hear this thing with the system on it and to actually give it a proper shine.

I agree, the maganflow sounds good. My buddy has it on his LB7 and I also like it on the cummins.

So this thing came with these ugly wheels, money has been tight but I’ve been rolling on them patiently.

I considered all kinds of wheels but after weighing the pros/cons I decided I love the H2 wheels. They look fugly with the stock H2 center caps but with Chevy centers good lord, it just does it for me!

The first pics are the finished product.

I found a guy selling 5 H2 rims with Dodge center caps for $200, I didn’t even haggle, met him, paid for them and then found 4 used Nitto 285/70r17’s for $330. For center caps I got on eBay and found new hub caps, I’m assuming knock offs but they list part number 9597163 in the ad and say they fit the stock 16” wheel. They don’t fit the H2’s out of the box and some mods are needed. You have to trim a little off the outer. My solution was to set the hubcap on a flat surface and a sharpie on a drill bit and spin the cap to make the cut line. You want the line to end just below the bulges for the lug but caps.

Then I went to my chop saw, and leaving it up I cut the outer ring.

Next you’ll need to buzz down the stand offs. I just left the saw running and held them against the side of the blade to buzz them down to this level. Use the braces as your gauge.

I put the post together because I couldn’t find any how to for this, just some poor you tube videos. Maybe it’ll help someone. Either way, I’m in love with this truck now! Loving these wheels! :D:woot:

Looks tits!

Thanks, this comment really sums up my feelings on them!

These wheels have finally pushed me over the edge and I’m in love with this truck. The old ones were hideous, I hate to admit it but I was shallow the truck was like my fat side chick I would avoid driving it, I didn’t want my friends to see me driving it however boy did I ever love to smash that skinny pedal while driving it. These wheels look awesome, I think partially due to my having less than $300 in them helps as well! After installing them I’ve been driving this thing everywhere!

I need speaker recommendations in the 6.5in flavor. The door speakers were junk when I bought the truck, I swapped in 6.5 boss speakers over the factory that are terrible at least they play music I guess, I love music and radio but I’ve never been huge on dropping money on speakers or blasting my tubes and thought that the boss speakers would be good enough but they already sound blown out. I don’t want to do this job a third time so give me suggestions please!

Just saw this thread.
Nice find.
Seems every truck I've buy comes with those rims. It's the sign that it's meant to be (if you need spares, I have at least 3 sets).

LBZ has been flawless for quite some time, my brother called me today and asked to borrow it to tow his race car to Oklahoma for a race tonight. He called me and said in Burleson (about 60miles out of Waco) that the transmission kicked out of lockup on the TC, the RPM’s were going up but it wasn’t going any faster and the trans temp spiked to 220f. :doah:He shut it down and a friend and I went and picked the mess up. It still runs but after my 700r4 business with Barney I wasn’t chancing even driving it home empty. It’ll go to my buddies transmission shop on Tuesday.

What do y’all think about it, a little googling and I’m thinking TC issues? I dunno, transmission work always seems like it’s $1,500 to even start with so that’s going to seriously affect money I was squirreling away for Barney. :frown1:

Sad day to tow a Chevy home with a Dodge :surepal:
