Just found this on Auto trader, now I wanna go look at it and wanna convince the wife that we need it!!! http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...1522&minPrice=10000&listingId=320860955&Log=0

I'd just wanna strip the black paint off the rockers (I think it may be bed liner?), take of the ugly aftermarket side rub strip (it's like the stock except duallies didn't come with it stock and it's not in the stock position and it's ugly, LOL!), take off the grille guard and bug shield, get any messed up paint resprayed the original white, ditch the chrome simulators (hopefully still has the nice factory argent wheels, just under those clip on chrome simulators, would just have to find some oem beauty rings), and get some more aggressive treads then, I would rock the heck outta this truck!!! 99 (last year of the body style!) 7.4L, nv4500, 4x4 (floor shift), regular cab dually, in white, 54k miles, freakin gorgeous! (keep it stock but with some nice treads= perfect! Or, maybe run the 1999 hubcaps on some 2011 aluminum 17" dually wheels (assuming they fit) hmm....)

I want it bad enough that I almost hope it has some horrible flaw, that way I won't be so tempted to buy it! LOL! If I were to buy it though, they'd definitely have to come down on price, I want it bad but not THAT bad, LOL!

On a side note- how the did I let my subscription here lapse, I must rectify this!!! :eek1:

Question though, for y'all peeps in/near Wyoming, is that a rust area? The Carfax says this truck spent most of its life there. If it's likely to have rust, I don't wanna waste the drive to go look at it.

What do y'all think of this truck, am I just blinded by my lust for an 88-99 2500-3500 regular cab with a big block and nv4500 (seems to be a pretty rare find) or does it look as good to y'all as it does to me?

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!!!

Hmmmm..... just remembered ORD's UA K2500..... SOOOO SICK!!! Maybe I wouldn't want to keep this rig stock after all if I were to buy it......... OMG, BAD thoughts!!!! LOL!

Rocky mountain area uses sand not salt for the roads, do we get rust? Yes. Like the east coast? Nowhere close

I would say for rusting the Rockies are a happy medium between the super clean trucks from the west coast and the rusted out east coast rigs.

Cool! Thanks for the info bro!!! :thumb:

This may be worth a drive to go look at.... wish it wasn't 150 miles away! :(

What do y'all think would be a fair price to pay for this truck (assuming as good of condition as the pictures portray, and no hidden maladies found when I go check it out)?

I have a great example for ya. My blazer has been here its whole life. Sat in a garage rotting for 5-10 years of theses years. Now when you consider my blazer to be a 72 thats 40 years here. Yes i have rust for a 40 year old truck BUT look at this.

Both of my rocker planels looked like this. No holes/or nothing more then alittle surface rust.

You could get that body style in 2000. Not sure what the criteria was. Buddy had a 2k 3500 RCLB...kinda cool truck tho....

Oh oh oh that k20 is perdy :D

Heck yeah it is!!! :thumb:

Sweet! That is VERY encouraging, thanks for the pics bro!!!

Rocker panel? What are them things

Lmao!!! I used to live up north- rocker panels are scarce up there!!!

Drat, not quite as cool as I had originally thought then. (a 2000 would be cooler being the last year!) Still, doesn't seem to be a very common truck to find, in either year! EDIT: just found 3 2000's but, none are as clean as this 99.

WOW YOUR TRUCK ROTTED AWAY SO MUCH THAT IS ALL THAT IS LEFT !!!! :haha::whistle:

just messin with ya..

Question for y'all:
on the dually trucks of the 1988-2000 body style, if you take off the dually fenders, is the body still whole underneath and viola- instant single rear wheel bed (with a couple bolt holes to fill) OR, do they chop it up a bit at the factory to make more inner fender clearance? I've never owned a dually before so, I am not totally sure how I will do with such a wide vehicle, so it would be nice to know before buying this that if need be I can switch it to single rear wheel with (hopefully) little more than a swap of front hubs, swap of rear axle, swap of wheels and removal of flares. Any info greatly appreciated!

Theres a red dually 4x4 right across the street from me that looks identical to this one as far as regular cab goes. Looks real sharp and clean. I could go ask if he'd be interested in selling.

Given the funds... buy both.

Its easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

:haha::haha::haha:

Not enough funds for both!!! Really, I guess not enough funds for the 1999 technically (would have to get a loan for the 1999), I just really need/want (or want/perceived need?) a pickup. I love my Jeep but, I miss being able to haul stuff around so much that I am half tempted to trade it in! (after only a year of ownership, imagine the depreciation!!! I'll just keep it! LOL! So, on the hunt for a somewhat reasonably priced 3/4-1 ton (I'd kill a 1/2 ton) pickup (4wd, stick, wanting reg cab longbed) as a second vehicle) :doah:

Dunno. I haven't snooped at it up close yet. Don't want to give a wrong impression to the neighbors as they just moved in town a few months ago.

LMAO!!! :haha:

I have some neighbors that I would love to snoop on to figure out just what the heck they are doing- they moved in about 2 months ago and they spend about everyday working in their (fenced in) backyard often with various and sundry loud machines (never see what's making the noise). They have hauled in several truck beds worth of dirt, bags of topsoil, etc. It's weird since I know they have a tiny backyard (1/6 acre) I am curious to know just what the heck they are doing! LOL!

Might wanna at least meet your neighbors first before you start snooping around their truck! :D

Now that I think about it- Realistically though, don't worry about checking it out for me, I'd be out over a grand in gas alone to go from here to Kansas for a truck! (Jeep= about 13mpg, BBC truck= about what 11 mpg? so, 90+ gallons out and 200+ gallons back (having a friend drive my Jeep back whilst I enjoyed BBC goodness!!!)) By the time I paid for gas, I'd likely be able to afford an even nicer truck here!
