My mud pits are no longer in existence.

But I still managed to get stuck.

My grandparents filled in a swimming pool. Took a year before it was really solid. So maybe they are not done for just yet.

so why you shuttin it down?

Several reasons:
The opportunity to have them filled in without any personal cost; while also aiding in the disposal of sediment for a local "Salmon Recovery Project".

I wanted to start returning my field to how it used to look when I was a kid; Mud Races were only a temporary "phase" up there. 5 years was enough; holding the Mud Races themselves were alot of hassle and barely broke even financially if it all.

I felt if they were there too long and kept getting deeper and more people heard about them, I'd have people soon start bothering me about "environmental and/or water issues".

If I don't have a mud pit to play in or get stuck in any time I want, I might actually get more work done, and blow up less motors.

say what you want but if your anything like me its just a matter of time before your sitting around bored... and you decide to drive your truck around a little... and then you roll threw the old mud pit and find out its not completely solid yet :waytogo:

I'm glad I got to run through those pits once before you filled them in. I think they'll be missed. But hey I know you, it'll only be a matter of time before you find a place up there to have another mud pit or such :wink1:
