came across an EBay auction Tuesday night for a '78 K20 about 30 mi from here with a plow on it. just out of curiousity i opened it up, and read the description. the truck itself is a piece, but i'll bet that with snow beginning to fall tonight, the price will jump up pretty high, if it doesnt sell locally before the end of the auction.

the ad mentioned the seller being a salvage yard, specializing in 4x4 trucks. what really caught my eye was the claim of 400 trucks in stock. ok, i HAVE to check this out. so i called up my buddy and made plans to go down and check it out today. when we got there, i was absolutely amazed at what i saw. 400 trucks is no bull****, there were trucks EVERYWHERE, and in any brand and configuration you wanted 1/2 ton crewcabs (obviously swapped in stuff) to 1 ton K5s and K10 shortboxes, same for the Fords. i counted 7 crewcabs that needed little more than rocker panels and doors, cab corners, floorboards, and cab mounts were rock solid. prices werent terrible, but werent as "great" as you might get on Ebay, but for being so close, they're very good prices.

here's a link to the site i found them through.

if you need something, this guy probably has it. while we were there he bought 3 more trucks, a 90-91 Burb, a 92 K1500 xcab, and another xcab which the seller drove in. i'm definitely going to be going back, especially when i start working on my '77. we were in heaven walking through that place, despite the near freezing temp and rain.

Didnt see any 1962 Suburbans there did yah?? Or trucks for that matter. I need a set of fenders and some inners, a drivers door, some 1/4 panels, a roof section, rear bumper......

hey beater_k20, will you pull parts we need and palletize them and ship them to use, if we make it your time? not needing anything, right now but was wondering if you would provide this for us...of course, we would have to hagle a price with you, for your time and work!

me thinks allan has the title.

this guy's got Alan beat by a long shot. chassis lined up all over the yard with axles laid across them.

he's all set up to do that i do believe. could contact him through EBay or his website.

I dunno... Allan just scored D60 #18. Just having lots of axles doesn't count for much. If it aint a 60, it ain't worth talking smack about. ;)

Assuming they couldn't be sold for the $, I'd rather have one D60 than 1000 D44s. :)
