came across an EBay auction Tuesday night for a '78 K20 about 30 mi from here with a plow on it. just out of curiousity i opened it up, and read the description. the truck itself is a piece, but i'll bet that with snow beginning to fall tonight, the price will jump up pretty high, if it doesnt sell locally before the end of the auction.
the ad mentioned the seller being a salvage yard, specializing in 4x4 trucks. what really caught my eye was the claim of 400 trucks in stock. ok, i HAVE to check this out. so i called up my buddy and made plans to go down and check it out today. when we got there, i was absolutely amazed at what i saw. 400 trucks is no bull****, there were trucks EVERYWHERE, and in any brand and configuration you wanted 1/2 ton crewcabs (obviously swapped in stuff) to 1 ton K5s and K10 shortboxes, same for the Fords. i counted 7 crewcabs that needed little more than rocker panels and doors, cab corners, floorboards, and cab mounts were rock solid. prices werent terrible, but werent as "great" as you might get on Ebay, but for being so close, they're very good prices.
here's a link to the site i found them through.

if you need something, this guy probably has it. while we were there he bought 3 more trucks, a 90-91 Burb, a 92 K1500 xcab, and another xcab which the seller drove in. i'm definitely going to be going back, especially when i start working on my '77. we were in heaven walking through that place, despite the near freezing temp and rain.
