I got a line on a D60...

Some guy wants to buy a car from me and he is willing to do a partial trade for a D60 front end. 4.56 gears. Hes says he may have SRW and DRW avilable. If so which one do I want? I have a 14BFF in the rear. Sorry I didn't do any research because he is supose to be coming over with in an hour. What else should I watch out for? Is there anything special I need to put the crossover steering on? Flat tops I guess? Thanks guys!:bow:
 
well srw if you dont want a dually version. The crossover arms just bolt onto the knuckle with 4 studs where the kingpin cap goes. No machining necessary, bolts right on.
 
try to find out what year it came from, you want the 1980iirc or newer version with the non neckdown shafts. Make sure it comes with a tie rod, springplates, hubs/lockouts, etc.

If he doesn't have the spring plates I can get new ones from DIY4X can't I?

Anyway to tell what year the thing came from when I look at it?

srw is 69.5" wide (more desirable) and a dually is 74iirc inches wide, if your running h1 rims that have 7" bs then dually is the way to go, if you have a 14 bolt from a 3/4 ton truck then the srw is the way to go. Its all in the wms spacing. Wide or narrow. Im gonna guess by your sig that you want the srw to match the same with as your existing 8lug 44.
 
as far as the years, you gotta ask the guy or just assume its a neckdown version.
 
Sorry guys I have been off the computer all week. The F'ing guy never called me and I don't have his number. I figured it would be a sweet deal to make a little cash and get a D60 in trade. Why won't anybody by this car? It is a 2000 LS1 4L60E Camaro. It is wrecked pretty good but the motor and tranny are fine. Still runs and drives. I guess I am going to put it on evilbay and see if anyone wants it. The car has alot of miles (150K) and that scared off a couple of buyers but nobody will even make an offer. Bummer...
