Yea....Whoever came up with that "Slide Block" idea for mounting calipers on a D60 can eat a big one. Then the PO of my 60 decided to WELD the farkers in!!!!!!!! F!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did hit them hard enough to break the weld, so it will move a little, apparently he was no better of a welder then a thinker. So now how the hell do I get them out, can I get new ones to replace them since I will have to beat the sh!t out of them to get them out or can I get an idea to make them slide bolt style? And I also can't get the napa hoses to work. Hole in the block for the caliper is to small, so I measureed the banjo bolt, drilled it out and am praying it will seal. Or else I'm screwed. Any ideas? Think I asked a question in there somewhere....

you can buy replacement slide block and wedge spring parts for the dana 60.

All mine appears to have is the slide block. What is this wedge spring you speak of? Got a pic? It'd be cool if you did...

And why is my 60 apparantly the only 60 that the friggin banjo bolts off my ten bolt won't work? The banjo bolts on my 60 have like 5/8ths heads on them!!!!!!!

im at work, ill get a pic of my spares later.

My D60 was missing the spring on one side. Can you get the replacement parts at Autozone or similar?

For the caliper hardware just go to any parts store and tell them you need a caliper hardware kit for your axle. It will come with the slide, the spring and a new bolt. Most any parts stores should have one on the shelf.

The little wedge spring came with my new calipers, also had the new bolt in the package. I think I paid $44 for each with a core. Not too bad I think. Now I need to make time to install them. I also had to drill out my banjo bolts. I forgot what drill size I used, but I believe it's the copper washers that actually seal them. No probs so far hanging from the new extended lines. Lazy and snow are a bad mix for progress.

So I did figure out that the banjos on the 10 bolt I had were 10mm and the ones on the 60 are 7/16. I thought it was just a few years had the 7/16. Maybe I'll try and search.....

So it's a 77 or 78.5 60....
Gotta love the search feature.....

Check the BOM number with pirate's D60 bible. It'll tell ya. I got reman bendix calipers from Checker... $32/pc, $25 core. Comes with the wedge springs and screws. For "new" calipers, it's a no-brainer.

here is the link for autozone on the brake wedge and spring.
