I hate the guy who decided how to mouont calipers on a D60.....rant

Got it!!! Lucky for me the guy was a craptastic welder, so i hit the spot welds a few times with a BFH and they cracked like ice. Beat the sh oout of the wedge, popped right out.
I went to carquest and got new calipers and pads and for a mere 150, I have a 60 with brand new brakes!!! WoooHooo!!! Still dont know what the hell the little spring clip does. I just have it in the with the wedge pieces. Anyone have a picture of how it should look?? I'll post pics of mine after I get the steering back together and wheels on. 2 inch backspace with 14.5 wide tires. Should look stupid, but just temp...

Invert the wedge so the profile looks like the letter "n," large side facing away from the rotor. Put the clip on top of it, tabs pointing down. Then tap it between the caliper and the bracket. The further in it goes, the tighter the caliper gets on the bracket.

I see.... I'll work on it more tomorrow.
Hey so are you in Ft Collins Colorado? I'm in Loveland! We should get together and hang out sometime. I got the drivers side all done, and I got the brand new caliper ground down so I can fit my 15 inch wheels on it. I'll do the other side tomorrow. Here are a few pictures. And yea...Thornturds suck, but when they are free you would run them on the street too. I'm putting 16 inch rims on and 37 MTRs (prob) to wheel with, but the 'birds will work for the winter. Plus how uncool is that 2 inch back spacing!?! Looks dumb, but will make it move under her own power.

Yeah, you posted on my D60 build thread and mentioned yours had 3.07's. If it does, you've got a D61. Did you just throw it under the truck without setting up gears? How about some frontal pics?

I didn't need to set up the gears. The guy I bought it from had it under a blazer, and I popped the covers and it all turned, so what the hell right? I need to regear, but I also needed to get thiscrap outta my garage for the winter, so under the truck they went.
Setting up gears and auto trannys are about the only thing I will not touch on my truck. Don't have the right tool or patients to deal with it. But yea, a regear is in order and I will be getting on it soon.
