an LS6? brainwashed by brand loyalty
Might have to do with the LS6 being the highest rated motor of the muscle car era at 450 hp BONE stock...

torque was 500 ft lbs... if you did the same stuff that was done on the hemi to the ls6 it would make just as much or more hp and tq, it was starting from a step above the hemi.
The hemi were a lot of hype because of richard petty... but still an awesome motor. No Ls6 tho
no hype about a 426 hemi, they put down mad power to the ground. I have personally seen a original hemi car that had a bigger mopar performance cam and headers getting tuned on a dyno put down close to 600 rwp....it was at 579 when i left, and they were still messing with jets and timing. The street engines were bassically detuned race engines. For you triva and racing buffs, The 426 was designed to kick ass in NASCAR, which it did. This caused the racing body to make a rule change requiring manufacturers to race a production engine....doubt it if you want.
50-75 hp for the cam and headers...... and the other 150+hp from dyno tuning?
I'd like to know what you call "dyno tuning" ... 150+ hp from dyno tuning...
