I hate these odd ignition issues, HEI module revisited?

My code 42 came back yesterday after the new module.
A new distributor is in my future.

But they are tied together to 2 spots on engine, one at thermastat housing and other to back of head or back of intake manifold.

Tons of grounds tied together in harness...


Yup my problem was a single "tan" wire that was supposed to be grounded broke free from the factory crimp where three, or four wires where tied together. Anyone know if duct tape was a factory option for sealing the splice? I only ask this because both the ground splices and +12V were wrapped in duct tape. Regardless even before I found the ground issue, the delco dizzy showed improvement over the china dizzy.
 
I removed my factory harness a few times, yes there was a duct tape type of tape around a bunch of connections, weird.
 
Reminds me of my old Wagoneer... factory duct tape held the cruise control module under the dash. I think there was even a part number for it LOL!
