I hate to ask - what do you think The Blazer is worth?

It's mainly just surface rust. Nothing that can't be sanded off and primed over. Late 80's ****ty quality paint and primer flaking off in Seattle humidity and sun basically. I ought to sand it down and prime it just to have it looking a bit prettier.

If you do sell it, you can buy one back later if you really want to. There's tons of them around here in similar condition that are way cheaper than $4k. Maybe out east they are harder to find.

FAR harder to find out here. Rust ate them years ago.

I suppose this is true:

But as another member said, I would at least keep all the rare goodies that you have accumulated. If anything they will go up in value

Eh, just more junk taking up space that I'll have to move in May.

Not worth holding onto.

that sucks that you are needing to sell it.id say its worth at least 3-4 grand with all the goodies.if there is no rust even better.should go quick.if you are done with the hobby thats one thing, but just needing money is anether.i sold my chevelle 2 years ago to pay the mortgage.it woulda been nice but i wanted to focus on the blazer and it woulda cost way more to fix up the chevelle the right way.good luck and stay on the forums.its fun to web wheel too.

Oh, I won't be going away. Not like I do a terrible large amount of tech posting anyway.

Would you take payments? Lol. I've always loved your k5. Would be sad to see it go to someone who would tear it up

Possibly...but it'd kinda depend on a lot of things. PM me your thoughts.

I hate to admit it but while I like owning and driving it I just don't get the "warm tinglies" about it like I used to. I probably won't own one again. It doesn't do anything for me that I can't have another, newer, less troublesome vehicle do for me. I'm tired of old vehicles that require work all the time and the bad feeling of knowing I'll either have to do it or just don't know how to do it.

I'm in the same feelings about my ride, and mine is stuck 2000 miles away not running and as mentioned by a previous person, I would probably sell it, but in it's current physical condition, even after I get the motor running again, I still wouldn't get but nearly scrap value out of it, even with a brand new motor & trans.

with a brand new engine and trans,it would go for at least the 2 grand those are worth.imo.

That's like selling the holy grail in my book. Hopefully, your financial picture picks up and you can keep it... instead of torturing the bretheren with a sale. I know how rare that K5 is in these parts and wish it was in my yard.

tried to find some good pictures in the build thread "quickly", but didn't come across what I was looking for. Post up some interior, engine bay, and full exterior pics. Of course every location is different, and rust free rigs are a dime a dozen around here. But for CA, anything that is reliable, diesel (no smog), fresh tires, and all working windows/instruments...I'm looking at $3-$4k locally. From there is goes up depending on aftermarket add-ons and interior shape.

You won't find a K5 in the South East....I had to have mine shipped in...of the few that do exist around here, they aren't for sale....very, very hard to find...impossible to find any 70's models...
I sort of understand the "when I'm done with something I'm ready to move on"....but I've just started my K5 love affair...I plan to keep it until I'm gone...but...things change...I guess at least we aren't talking about $50K corvettes with our trucks...they are probably the least valuable vehicle coveted...
Seems like there is a shift every decade or so...never even know when the aftermarket will fold up on these parts...LMC could be gone in 10 years...

Sold yesterday on Ebay. Guy drove here with a pickup and trailer and paid me cash. Off it went.

Sad to see it go but happy at the same time. Already put some cash on my debts and have a bit less worry about other things.

Agree with you 100%. Bought a 50 BMG recently and if I continue to have to work on my blazer it may wind up in a field somewhere with a few holes in it. Working on this old crap that was designed poorly to begin with begins to wear on you. Personally I feal like I'm working on a truck that was designed by fisher price! :haha:

All this cause I got into that show xtreme 4x4. Damn him he makes everything look stupid easy!! I watched a show the other day of him cutting out a IFS out of an 94 blazer and sticking in a solid axle. After owning one of these trucks and then watching the show your realize all the steps they skip just to make it fit in the show. I stopped watching that show when they got into the stupid expensive buggies. Probably 90% of the people that watch that show couldn't afford those buggies. I think they lost there target audience.

Frankly any more I just want something new that I can customize a little and call it good.

Glad it all worked out for ya bud. :waytogo:

Remember what I said though, even though you don't have a K5 anymore you still have to stick around on here :thumb:

Doesn't matter what vehicle you drive

I'll be around.

Been reading a few other forums and at the very least I can come here for good advice and less stupid drivel.
