I started thinking about it today, it really seems that I will come up with any excuse to drive my 75 Jimmy. Now, I have other cars, an FJ Cruiser and an Acura NSX, two vehicles that are pretty iconic in their respective classes, yet I find myself going out of my way to come up with reasons to drive the Jimmy. From a practicality standpoint, this makes no sense. The thing is, I often leave my FJ (which is actually supposed to be my daily driver) and NSX for weeks at a time without driving them (sometimes months with the NSX), but will drive my Jimmy at least once a day. Why? When it comes down to it, I like my other cars, and they are both quite fun in their own rights, but I love my Jimmy, and will drive it hundreds of miles a week just because I crave driving it.

Anybody else on CK5 find that they use their rigs as a daily driver, even though they actually have a daily driver in the driveway? I'm curious.

I used to, until I my K5 had too many mods. Now I jump all over the place on what I drive. The K5 still gets driven every once in a while, but not like it used to.

Yep, I have a work vehicle that is provided, but when I do go somewhere if wifey isn't going I tend to take the jimmy, instead of the other 2 I can choose. Partly because I don't wheel as much as I would like so I just want to drive it.

I drive my K5 from early spring until they start salting the roads in the fall. And a few times in the winter if there's enough ice on the lake.

The last few years I've driven it so little (like a couple thousand miles) that it just feels like an adventure whenever I'm in it. It does camping and wheeling more than "regular" stuff. At least now it qualifies as a convertible since I added a hard-top hoist in the barn, which gets it more trips to town.

I've always preferred old trucks to anything modern. However, working full time while going to school had required a newer rig that I can depend on without a ton of time spent working on it.

That pushed me into the newer stuff until I went out and bought another motorcycle (2013 w/ fuel injection and abs). Now I spend 97% of my time on two wheels. That may change once I get the new old truck running and I'm finally done with school.

I can't be the only one that wants to see pictures of the mentioned NSX....

Wow nice. I have had the chance to mob around in a couple of em.

Really a nice feeling car. Honda did something very right with that car

For a 23 year old Honda, it probably feels as good now as it did the day it arrived in the US. The two are polar opposites sitting in the garage. But, as fun as the NSX is to drive, that Jimmy is my go-to. If I had to keep just one of them, it'd be the Jimmy hands down.

Right now I daily my 98.5 Cummins , but that could change this winter as we are planning to carpool if that happens I will be driving the 83 burb again .

The Burb is Nicer to drive, but the Cummins is so much faster and funner to drive.

Truth be told,I'm starting to tire of daily driving my diesel pickup..

It rides very rough, feels like the axles are welded to the frame, and the roads here suck for the most part..boom-crash-bang and the nose looks like it comes off the mounts over pot holes..also its rather cramped,my 6' 5" frame doesn't fit well behind the wheel and I dislike not having any rear storage space..

I also feel I'm wearing it out, when I should be "saving" it for winter use & plowing..

Lately I'm wishing I had something else to drive, that rides nice and is more economical..(comfort over economy though,if I had to choose,I dont go too far very often)..

I miss my van in summer, its a good concert and swap meet vehicle, you can sleep in it,cook food, and it has a portable toilet too...when you guys get over 50,you'll appreciate having your own "facilities" a lot more on those long trips, where rest rooms aren't always available or close to where you have to park..

I just renewed the plates on my truck the other day,and was tempted to swap them to my van,but didn't like the thoughts of having to get that to pass inspection (more $$),and not being able to trust it far ,after sitting over 10 years it is bound to have issues--maybe MAJOR ones, like the tranny or engine...it has been enough of a battle just keeping my pickup running,inspected,etc...
