I just found yet more Moab carnage

Yes, I had the brace on and still cracked the frame - in two spots! I now have the weld in kit on, and we were able to put the brace on behind it! Had the two cracks welded up, then ground down the welds smooth, then put on the weld in kit over that, then the brace. It looks super tough now, so if I break it now I don't know what to do!! The steering is so solid now, I am thinking that the cracks must have started a while ago, but they didn't get to the point of dangerous til this last rock run to John Bull. Oh well, fixed for now!!

When fixing the cracks, its a good idea to drill a small dia. hole at the end of the crack before welding to stop crack propagation.

I have found that if you box in the frame were the box sits and then run heavy wall tubing all the way thru and weld those in were the bolts go thru. This helps alot.

It's not exactly portable, but if you want we can put it on over here one of these days. It's not that big a job, the biggest part is getting everything lined up. I really should get off the computer and fix my Flinstone thing.
