crashandburn
1/2 ton status
I am collecting parts to put a 6.5 turbo setup on my 6.2, and have been doing very well in the junkyards. I just had an idea that may work, may not.
We all know that the turbo interferes with the A/C box when you use the 6.5 manifold. I thought about popping the $380 for a Banks manifold, but I'm on a budget and I can get a 6.5 manifold for $50 at the local junkyard.
What if I had an extension made for the turbo flange? An extension that would move the turbo up and forward a few inches?
Advantage 1: The turbo might clear the accessories.
Advantage 2: I could then drain the turbo oil into the valve cover, just like the old ATS kit used to.
Do you think this would work, or does the manifold flange still interfere beyond the point of A/C box minor surgery?
