with the clunker program, have you seen any cars worth saving? any chevys w/v8's in them?
Nah, unfortunately just clapped out, knocking 5 liter mid 90's 1/2 ton crap. Although we did have a 02 Suburban with a bad head gasket and a rod knock, but MINT interior. So I grabbed the center folding seat with console out of it for my '05 Work Truck packaged non folding center seat swap project:wink1:
Other than that- if it's there for the program, it's there for a reason:rolleyes:

There were a few that I wouldn't take part in, just couldn't. One was an early 90's Dodge w/a Cummins and a D60.

:eek1:That was a C4C car :(??? That old 12 valver would pull better mpg numbers then any of the current "clean" trucks. My 270k 00 Cummins constantly pulls 20-22mpg unloaded, the current 6.7 equipped trucks are lucky to see 14mpg.

The other day my friend from the dealership told me about an 85 swb 4x4 gmc pickup that someone traded in. original paint in good condition, working power windows, door locks and cold air. he had to blow up the motor and send it off to be crushed.:doah::mad:

Im not quite the fan of cash for clunkers but good to see that you are having fun with it;)

There is going to be a lot of those "old" diesels that are going to be scraped in California in the next few years. Damn CARB, I was thinking about putting one a blazer.

all the clunkers are showing up in the junkyards here, and hot damm if we didnt pick a 60 from a yard on half price weekend. heck yes! i just wish i worked at a dealer so i could smash a couple cars.

that fleetwood had a V8 in it.

i have seen lots of 85-87/91 chevys in the yards from this clunker program.

imho, the clunker program was a waste of money and vehicles. the republic took on more debt in order to get consumers to take on more debt, destroying good vehicles in the process.

what a waste.

Really? I didn't think the Cash for Clunkers vehicles could end up in the yards.
