Hmmm I could have swore I heard that once they were turned in they were dismantled and crushed. I figured that's why everyone has been crying when k30's and early cummins dodges are turned in.

Some probably are crushed simply because they may be worth more in scrap than in a yard..

Really? I didn't think the Cash for Clunkers vehicles could end up in the yards.

They can sell anything except the long block and the vehicle cab with the vin# on it. They have to be crushed after (I think) 90 days. We weren't allowed to do anything to them except kill 'em. I wanted to get a set of air horns off of a Chevy pu, they told me it would be my job if I touched 'em. That decision came from the dealership owner. Another dealership in town is stripping them clean.
