I miss the way my truck used to look

Have any of you guys drove a truck that looks like Ronnies does now, in yuppie habitat like a LARGE city? I used to love to take my big beat up rusty 72 blazer into Salt Lake City. Yuppie drivers in the city would clear me a right of way, like they thought the damage and tetanus was contagious!
Big Ugly still looks like Ronnie's before shot and folks around here steer clear of me. Dunno if they think it's liable to explode or sprout machine guns but I swear I always have extra space around the truck at all times.

Ronnie, random question but do you know where the truck came from originally? The all green isn't a common paint job outside of the Marine Corps.

The funny part is earlier this year over on Steel Soldiers somebody posted a few pictures of your truck that they had gotten off the web and started decrying how some logging company was beating it to death. I laughed at him, sent him over here to one of your posts on CK5, and asked just where he got that idea? Never heard back about it.

:haha:;)

I like the idea of tossing some paint on it as it sits. A little freshen up work... might make you happy again. At least for a little while.

My truck was used at one of your military bases in Germany
I do not know wich one.
When it was sold in Germany it was cammo painted as it should be.
The all green is Swedish army paint and done by the first owner here in Sweden.
Oh and I still love my truck as it is bc no one I know has one like it :wink1:
I just miss the straight lines that were there before I did the aerodynamickit thing to make it faster :p:

If it was THIS  year maybe it will be easy to find
I will try to search there it would be fun to read

Ronnie, do a search for "Ronnie" or Sweden. I'm pretty sure I told them you were from Sweden and might have even mentioned your screen name. It was in the CUCV forum.

Ronnie how long did it take you to go from pic A, to pic B?
Me, I prefer the latter version of the truck, tho it would be nice to have a nice truck and then a beast truck, hum...

Thanks AJM
A-B was about 5 years.
B was 6 months ago and this is today (I guess next step is to remove sheetmetal so it has not changed much).

There we go.

Quite a few of the members over there are quick to judge...especially if you deign to...gasp...modify a military vehicle! Oh heavens! Cats and dogs living in sin! End of the world! Blah blah blah...

what is the proposed completion date of this vehicle?

eh, sometime between the 4th of July and Labor day... it's all money... got another 4 or 5 to spend...

it'll be a year and a 1/2 at that point... a far cry less than many "projects" in here...
