Don't get me going with the early burbs. Would love to have one.

I have been looking for a wrecked truck or express van.

Ooo 60s body with all the modern drive train parts? Nice
And heated seats for your old man butt

I have told you before, I think the idea is great. I know for a fact you can pull it off.

If you can walk me through the front end of my truck typing you have this in the bag.

Build thread?

It is a cost thing. I own a blazer. And as I said before, I am not to thrilled about a full build.

Can I vote for all 4?

California's roads are terrible. Arizona has a couple of bad ones but not all of them. Namely the I-40 because of all of the semi-traffic...

The 40 is what I take into So CA and Havasu.

I want to say it's 6 but I could be wrong. That might have been the reason I went to 8 lug front.

Let me know. I will be in Arizona between Christmas and new years.

This is what I really want as a tow rig. Too much money to build and not practical.

The other plus for doing the Blazer is that it fits on the semi. So if I need a place to stay, load the Blazer, hook the boat up and go. Then I use the Blazer to launch the boat and run around town.

Doable? Of course it's doable (that doesn't change the fact that you're crazy, but I can only select one poll option). I do question the novelty of it, though. Lowered trucks aren't exactly rare. Your blazer, in pretty nice stock shape, is already rarer than most lowered trucks. :dunno:

Would you gain much by losing a couple of inches?

Wade, it sounds like a plan.....I'd do a simple ladder bar rear with Firestone bags. Sounds like you're not needing articulation. Could be done cheap, and if you do long enough ladder bars changing ride height by 4-5" is more than doable.

To keep camber and castor managable for higher speeds, the front would need to stay leafs, or go 4-link (think using Firestone bags on a jeep style spring buckets)

I'm thinking you could do this and still keep costs down. Looking forward to the build thread.

As I am driving down the road today, I pull up next to a 1/2 ton standard cab short bed late model truck.

Just need to find a body damaged one I can throw my tub on. Problem solved.

Has a 5.3. I plan to rebuild everything. Is this to much to pay? Looking at it tomorrow. Figure I will offer 1200 and go from there!

He says the tranny is slipping, so I wouldn't offer him very much. I'm inclined to drive up with the car hauler (depending on how badly the tranny slips) and offer $1000 on the spot, but maybe $1200 would be more agreeable to the seller.
