i need a loud muffler

i have dynomax headers and mufflers...its reasonably quiet at idle and sounds great when i mash on it...main reason i got that setup was the cheap price...sure i've busted my knuckles tightening down those stupid bolts that you cant get a socket on to save your life, but hey, it was cheap and sounds good...

i've been know to run open headers occasionally...now thats loud...if only i had back pressure so it wouldnt sound like i was doing a driveby when i let off the gas......but that was loud enough to require earplugs while driving.....those rice burners were crying as i drove by...alarms dont like open headers....

good luck

My daily driver has a straight 6 w/a 4" exhaust and straight thru muffler. Not a whole lot louder at idle, but screams when you get on it (especially when you get up around 35 psi boost). Ran it for a while w/about an 8' long straight pipe. Really obnoxious.

I have Dynomax headers, 12" glasspacks, and tailpipes.

If you have to run a cat and you want it loud, don't run a muffler at all.

I am thinking of going to straight pipes when I get my 4 speed in. I want to have the mufflers while I'm re-learning to drive my truck though.

i run the same setup, 14" cherry bombs, no cats, heddman headers, and it ends after the bombs, thats 2 1/2" inch pipes on both sides through two seperate glass packs. i like the glass pack sound, but not the tone, it's too blah

get a one chamber flowmaster louder then a cherry bomb.

Save the whales Harpoon a fat chick.

I got a Flowmaster 40 series DeltaFlow...I also wanted very loud but figured that the 40 series would be too loud inside..so I went with the DeltaFlow and it mutes the sound a bit on the inside....has a nice rumble to it...sounds the way I think a truck should sound.
