I need a soft top

There was someone here that cut down a top and used that for snaps. Then just run a truck tail gate when your using the soft top and be done with it(though I imagine it'd be a mother to swap back and forth).

I'll probably have the snaps put on the body. My only concern is that they come off so when I paint it I don't paint over them, though I think they simply screw in with sheet metal screws(am I right?).

For the Tailgate you could use moulding tape(stuff that body shops use) and have a strip with the snaps installed and then tape it to the body.

Weird... I called them 2 weeks ago and they said "special order". Hmm.

That would be great if they did.

As far as screws/snaps; Yes, they are just screwed in with sheet metal screws. I wouldn't use angle as an alternative to screwing them to the bed side. I would get some thin wall rectangle tube, that way there are no screws sticking out into the passenger compartment.

good thinking i would have never thought of that.

My thought was to buy another hard top and cut it down to this, put the snaps on it and the support bar too.
