Hehehehe, guess i knew that one was comin! 396's are bitchin, and pretty rare! Well...atleast compared to my 350. My 350 with 202 heads take care of those 38's pretty nicely so its not in the budget to drop the 502 or anything BIG yet. I went to a car show up in canada and some dude had glass packs after his flowmasters on a blown 350 in a vega. I must tell ya, it sounded pretty sweet. Don't know if he was crazy cause he was canadian or struck gold with idea. Maybe it was just the blown 350 makin all that ruckis. Well if you're only getting 4MPG on a 350.....you've got bigger problems to deal with than your exhaust diameter!!!

Not only is running rich a waste of fuel, but you're also washing the oil off your cylinder walls and wearing out that engine in a hurry......maybe you'll be buying a new engine sooner than you think! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Seriously, get that fuel issue fixed. There's probably a LOT of power being lost.....and maybe your engine will sound BETTER once it can actually run with a normal A/F ratio....

I have a 350, and being O can't afford flowmasters, i put glass packs on the dual exhaust. I was not happy at all with the way it sounded... I just turned the idle jet way down, this caused a very nice deep low rumble noise at idle... Very easy and quick fix... that is, unless you really want that sound while driving also.

Mine has duel glass packs. Sounds a little ratty but not too bad. Someday I want to dump the glass packs and get something nicer. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
