Ok so I have been a member on here for a little but I only ever read and look for info that I need, but I'm at a loss right now. I have a 1986 K5 that I did an axle swap into and in the midst of a motor and trans swap plus a 4 speed atlas install. All these parts have come off of a 1987 k10 that had 8" of lift with a 383 motor and turbo 400 and a custom np208 to np208 doubler with 44" boggers and the axles as well which are 35 spline chrome moly shafts and a 14 bolt which both have 456 gears and welded. now this this info i'm trying to finish things up with the motor swap and I'm stuck with my radiator...... Its a stock looking 4 core radiator but I can't seem to find the correct rubber mounts or the correct radiator brackets that hold it in place. And the reason for that is while doing all this I took the front clip off and changed it to the cross over years for a blazer or burb of 89-91 and not I can't find online or in any local junk yards the proper rubber mounts or brackets for that style radiator support with a 4 core radiator. I guessing that a diesel truck of those years brackest and rubber mounts would work but I can't find any. I tried looking on line and anything I find is only for a 350 or smaller motor and I know that wont work. If any body could help me or knows any where to look i would really appciate it

I used rubbers / brackets / rad / shroud out of a '84~'85 CUCV in my '91. I'm not sure about the brackets but I know the rubbers are still available at a dealership and they're cheap.

Edit: when searching for parts use a mid 80's k30 w/ 454.

Dealt with similar issue with my Dads truck, newer front end and big block radiator supports/fan shroud.

The radiator itself is taller than the non-BBC stuff. The BBC upper plate, which is one piece instead of the two piece upper mounts used on other applications, is designed for a tall radiator.

You can use a "shorter" radiator in the BBC mount, but you need to make a spacer for the rubber mount.

I *believe* the diesel stuff (and perhaps gas) with the monster 34" core radiator also used two piece mounts.

Need to know which radiator you are running to know which parts you'd need. The small block fan shroud won't work with the BBC upper mount, and vice versa. There might be some ways to make it work, but I'm thinking there are at least 4 different factory radiator mounting setups..."short radiator" uses two dropped radiator upper brackets, "tall radiator" uses two somewhat flat upper brackets, the BBC uses a one piece upper bracket, and the extra wide radiator uses two separate brackets, but one is angled to match the core support bolt holes.

Just to clarify on mine, I'm using the tall / extra wide diesel rad with the 2 flat mounts (not sure if one is angled). It was all a direct bolt in to my core support which already had the extra set of threaded holes for the diesel rad on the driver side.

Also, the diesel fan shroud works fine with the 454 fan.

Try 86 K30 w/ 454, my K30 has the big 4 core in it........as a matter of fact my K5 had one in it from the PO, I'll have to see if I have the mounts some where as im now running a Dodge rad in it.

thank you guys for all your help. i have a pair coming to me and all I need to do is run out and pick up the proper bushings which by the sounds of it will be easy since a dealer should have them. Once again thank you guys.
