I need QUIET muffler recommendations

I went with Thrush Hush Turbos, and they were only $35 each from Summit Racing. Hush is the keyword in its name. They are quiet, but they do have a nice tone when I hammer down.

I went down to my local muffler guy and scored some of the large 3 inch in and out mufflers off of late model vehicles that the area kids had swapped out for Flowmasters or Glasspacks. They were next to nothing and have very good flow and are nice and quiet.

I've got a massive magnaflow on my GMC. It's so quiet you can hear the piston slap echo off the wall in the drive thru at mcdonalds. Sounds decent on the throttle, quiet enough inside you can hear even the smallest rattle.

I've used 'Jones' quiettones a couple times and they are pretty much what your looking for... no drone on highway, almost silent really. And open up decent when your in it. In my burb I have a 3" Inlet, with dual 2.5" outlets mounted under about the back seat, with 2-16" pipes and no turndowns dumping infront of the rear axle under the truck. The air intake under the hood is louder than the exhaust on the highway.

I'm looking for recommendations. I'd like something that has a little sound to it like some stock vehicles do, so not exactly silent, but I definitely don't want anything loud.

Similar here. Back in '94 I put on dual three chamber (50 series?) flowmasters (full length exhaust) and it was loud enough but not obnoxiously loud like the cherry bombs on my friend's truck. I changed from a holley to a q-jet and those big secondaries get loud. Back in '94 my K5 was somewhat fast for most vehicles. Today, without getting into the secondaries, I hardly can keep up with a little old lady in a honda leaving the light. I want to keep up with traffic but I also don't want to sound like a drag race. I am thinking of getting cadillac mufflers or something and going quiet.

EDIT: I added a 1" carb spacer and this made a big difference in exhaust noise - went from can't talk to able to carry a conversation. My air cleaner is an open filter top and bottom plate style. A closed air cleaner should make a big difference in noise levels. Cold air intake probably even more. Is there a difference in exhaust noise between carb and fuel injected?

OK, I'm getting ready to replace the rusted and clogged muffler on the 73 and I'm looking for recommendations. I'd like something that has a little sound to it like some stock vehicles do, so not exactly silent, but I definitely don't want anything loud. I have a single 3" 50 series on the 78, and its not what I consider obnoxious (like the ratty glasspacks that it came with) but its definitely not what I want for a road tripping daily driver. Full verts aren't exactly the most insulated and sound dampened things there are, no sense making it worse than it has to be.
I've been watching youtube videos of different mufflers but everything still seems overly loud. The 73 has a stock original 350 that was converted to TBI a few days ago. One of two of the turbo mufflers I've seen looked promising with fiberglass matting, but I don't want to throw away money buying one that will be too loud when I put it on. I'd like to go 3" but stick with a single exhaust (already have the piping). If you have any videos, please share!

My 2.5" into a single 3" 50 series flowmaster is pretty quiet in the cab. Much better over 2.5" dual 40's I had. Can actually hold a conversation while listening to music

Got a part number for that Magnaflow?

I'll crawl under and have a look next time I'm messing with it. It came with a 70 series flowmaster. I took it to the muffler shop and asked for something a hair louder. He thought I said it was a hair too loud. It's dual in dual out and about a mile long.

I love my big as Magnaflow. I don't remember the part number (I'm sure it's in my build thread) but it's like 22" long. Toned it down nicely from the old 18" Borla I had.
