I need your input, '73 Blazer

If you have the original tcase it is a 203. The are very heavy. You are not going to bench press that out. If i was doi g it myself I would use a big trans jack or split the tcase and trans.

Yes you can.
2 things that will not seem obvious.
Loosen the dist cap, and take bolts out of the fan shroud.
You'll want some way of supporting the back of the engine while the trans is out.
I try to do it from above. A bar or 4x4 with a chain.
You can remove the trans and t case together if you have a good trans jack, or some strong buddies and floor jack.
If you put your floor jack under the trans pan use some wood to spread the load.
I will discourage anyone from putting a jack under the engine oil pan.
Bent pans leak.
Don't for get the dipstick tube and any cable to carb
I typically did the bottle jack under the pan to support it while the transmission is removed, but always with a board to spread the load on the pan.

However, if you can do it from above would be better. Using a jack leaves the truck stuck in that location. Whereas, if supported from the top, it can be moved to a different spot in the shop, yard, etc.

Axle teeth are some time stamped on the ring gear. I will go as far as saying GM gear sets have this.

That 203 or 205 transfer case is NOT light and if it is going to fall off the jack, let it fall. If you try to save it while it is falling, you will most likely be going to the emergency room. Bribe 2 or 3 guys with beer and tacos or something and get it pulled safely. While it is out, replace as many seals as possible and or have the transmission rebuilt to a step above your current HP level. Much easier to do when it is already out, then have to pull it again. Most shops (real shops that is) can rebuild a TH350 fairly quick.
