Tonight I put money down on a '79 Chevy 1-ton Dually 4x4 flatbed, 350/TH400/203, Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear, 4.56 gears I am told. Total cost $1500

I started having to write down a list and I think I'm at Dana 60 #18 now. I actually couldn't remember and had to make notes of what they all came from and where they were now to remember. Is that a good thing or bad thing?

I'm thinking 20 is a good number to stop at. I still have a Jeep wagoneer and a motorhome and a Scout II without 60 fronts yet.

ill take one :D

Me too... I give up on Ford Hp60s and Ford 205s... went through junkyards all day today and no luck. I think they're extinct.... Found some 203s and a Chevy 205 though...

I could really use a break and get a darn Chevy D60 soI can move on with my build :haha: :haha: :haha:

I heard 10 was a good number... then 12... hmm allan your seriously are obessed..

Dana 60aholic, you need to go DA... Dana60s Anymous

Alan... something to think about... you're sitting on $20K worth of front axles... not to mention the trans/transfer case combos, and assorted engines, plus other axles. liquidate and start over, and you could buy yourself some pretty nice stuff. you've made a pretty good name for yourself here, i dont think it would be a huge problem thinning the herd a little bit.

personally, the hunt is a big part of the fun, so you could find 20 more.

They're all just jealous. :D I say get as many as you can. I don't see 60's lossing much or any value. Looks to me like you are making a smart investment without meaning too.

Just stay out of the midwest:mad: I've only got 4 so far and I don't need you for competition:laugh:

Put me in your will:D I will set up a trust fund and only use one a year, and use them only for good not evil!!!!!!

Don't worry about me going to the mid-west. I can't afford the gas money to go that far. The furthest I went and got a Dana 60 truck from was Roy, Utah from a fellow CK5'r, then the Stepside in Bandon, Or, and another Crew Cab in Nakusp, BC, Canada, and Bend, Or. Those are the furthest ones.

I don't think I could start over. I'm weird and have this close bond to some of my trucks. Theres a few of them that I wouldn't sell even if I was offered far more than they were ever worth.

agreed. $20k is pretty sweet! that just sounds crazy

for $20K, you could buy a used Duramax truck, and then even have enough to wax the unibrow, and take the girl from Shuck's out to a nice night on the town. :deal:

well come on now, $19k for the dmax, that last $1k goes underneath the dmax;)

I was wondering why I could'nt find a D60 in WA. I have a buddy in need of a 1ton rear if you have any laying around.
