I think I need a bigger wingnut

Torque conquers all (....not "love" as they always try to say)

I don't think it will take any histrionics to roast the baloneys with 560+ FT/LBs of torque. Just roll on the gas, and let it eat.

.....unless you have 2.73 gears out back or some nonsense like that.

Nope, 4.10:1 ... but my rear disc convo coupled to the adjustable prop valve may be limiting me. I'll try turning the prop valve down all the way so I only have front brakes

If you got some stockish looking valve covers to paint orange , you may be able to pretend its a 396 from an old CamaroVellaVettaTruck :

Of course you would need to use a chrome top , which means cutting the top off all the way around sou can still use the tall filter with the chrome top <---- :thumb:

Chrome, bah :D

And it's a 468 ... why claim it's a 396? (Size matters ya know :haha: )

Valve covers are fairly obviously not stock ... GMPP, but still not your run of the mill factory ones.

But that 396 sticker is about what I'd want (save the wrong numbers)...

I think we need a BBC-By-Scott club:

Scott does do great work!
Now if I could just get him to drive out to the valley and adjust that one clacky valve for me :doah: hehheee

Well, Greg's got us beat there -- two that I know of

Question is, will he be able to light either of them up this decade? :haha:

Hey!!!....easy there. It's closer to the truck now than it's ever been.

And for your information, I just pulled the 'Burb out of winter storage this week so theoretically I could install that 496 stroker at ANY time now..... :saweet:

Oh, I'm just giving you crap ... my sixpack spent six months with a frozne engine and another six months without one at all, IIRC. I'm just jealous you have more money than time :D

Guys, Greg definately has you all beat. I've built him 3 BBC's already. So in total i guess i've built 3 for Greg, 1 for Burt, and 1 For Aaron. I also just built a SBC for Brian (bp71k5). Damn, i guess i have done a few engines for you guys now.

Burt, i was at your house last friday night at 8:30pm but you and Lisa decided to hit the hay early for a little horizontal bop or something. :smile1:

Hey, you'd think you own and run an automotive machine shop or something

As I need further motor work in the future, Scott, I assure you you'll have my business ... but I can't claim to need three motors when I only have two trucks :haha:

Though I wouldn't mind having a matching cherry 1974 Suburban... even a C10, as long as it has barn doors...

Well, either the dual rears have too much traction, or the rear brakes are too grabby even with the prop valve adjusted all the way up... I can't get them to break free no matter what. By the time I get any motion, the front brakes won't hold her, and she just creeps forward. :dunno:

Once moving, she scoots nicely though  :D
