Wow, 4x8 is.huge. not even the top guys doing fab for a living use a 4x8.

Ours is about 12x15. Torchmate. Pretty good, cuts up to 3/4 easy.
Why would you spend almost the same amount of money on a 4x4?
This would not be hobby only. I want solid works, i want a plasma table, and i want a real press break. I want to be able to design and build whatever i want, be able to recreate to sell etc and make money. Not just for the 4x4 field either. I have lots of plans.
Well I absolutely have not priced them so if they are that close I agree with your logic. Also I can only assume getting full sheets in there would cut down on production time.

You might look into building your own table. I knoiw there are several sources for the components. There are a couple threads over on OFN on guys that built their own.
I would really look at support after the sale if its going to be used in a business setting. Also buy the plasma cutter the company recommends. They usually have awesome knowledge on the recommended parts. Honostly I think the plasma table is gonna be the cheaper thing if you are gonna get a press brake.
We have two tables, a 5x10 and a smaller one. Wish I had a third and probably will add another 5x10 before too long.
It's the same as any other tool. The bigger the better.
Anybody serious about fab should be on nothing less than a 4x8 and to tell ya the truth, that's far to small.

If you read up on burntables the user reviews aren't that great. Have you checked out plasmaspider. Com?
Also the hypertherms seem to be the best for cutting and customer support. A guy by the name of Jim colt seems to be on every cutting forum and can answer anything about hypertherms and using on different tables.

I would like to find one to buy and be ready to go for the most part. I dont have the patience to build one, unless someone has some really great details on everything needed etc.
I have nothing informative to add other then to say get the biggest damn table your wallet can afford. Size is everything with this spicific form of fabrication. Sell everything you don't need. Pawn whatever you don't need, recycle your beer cans to add to your maximum cost affordability. You will not regret getting a bigger machine, but you will quickly regret getting a smaller machine once you see and hit the limits of that machine. Looking forward to see where this goes.
theres one cost you haven't included here.... Once you get a table that will handle 4x8 or 5x10 you have to think of what your going to use to get 1/4" and 3/8" sheets up onto it. your not going to want to manhandle them much
Either use that A frame thing, or behind my blazer there is a 2 ton crane that swings around the shop
