I live in the South part of Salt Lake County, right before Utah County begins on the West side of the 15.

Haha, no, haven't lost a 10 bolt yet. Moderate sized tires, open differential, stock drivetrain and it's just a light hauler (2,500lb trailer max) and daily driver. I suspect if I keep it where it's at, the 10 bolt should serve me fine for a while...

When I go through with some TBI mods I am planning (cam, intake, heads, throttle body, chip) and get up over 300HP at the rear wheels, then I might start looking for a 14 bolt rear.

10 bolts seam to be a luck of the draw. Some people wheel em wit 35's and others (like my step mom) brake them with stock rigs on the street. But ya you are probly right if you just basicly take it easy you shouldnt have any issues.

SBC 350(>300 ft. lbs.), TH350, NP208, 3.90s, LockRightF, NoSlipR, 35s, 1985 Burb Silverado with all power and dual air etc.
Tough climbs to date, Lockwood/Miller Jeep Trail, Vic's Cat Trail @ HVSVRA.
I keep it on the ground.

Picked this up last weekend.
1976 Burb
350, 350 turbo, np203
9 inch lift (6" blocks 3" body lift)
38.5x16x15 ss tsl on allum. rims


Got rid of the hood cowl to begin with. Couldn't see over it. Next on the list is to get the heater and windshield wipers working. Then replace the rear blocks with 6" leaf spring, or maybe a shackle flip, haven't decided yet.

Will definetly be a WIP.

Thats the 79 k5 on the left that im still workin on.

I like that alot better without the hood scoop. Also if you wanted my opinion i would say it would look better with a little skinnyer wheels. But dont get me wrong that is a cool burb and deffinetly a great start!

Here's mine.'90 350-700r4-NP241 1/2t. I haven't driven it since I bought it (rear 10b crapped out), but have sourced my 3/4ton front/rear. It runs and the 700R and NP241 have about 40,000mi on a rebuild.The GVRW says 7000lbs, my '79 3/4t is only 6800. How can this be with 10bolts?
