It started wednesday morning, we took the road at 9 AM my self chevy k10, a jeep, a cherokee, a colorado and a ranger, got to Ensenada at around 10 AM took a look at some race trucks and stuff tood the road again at around 2 PM towards Ojos Negros and got off the road at the Ojos Negros entrace (for thoose who recognize this race, that place is the one where the trucks/cars jump way high) we took the course for around 45 miles doing almost 5 hours and that was because the cherokee broke the track bar.

The race was ok, we saw lots of action on race day a lot of bumper to bumper racing, easy 5 trucks and bikes back to back of each other trying to passs th guy in front, pretty cool.

ah man, I almost went to that. I had some school presentation to do and such, so I couldn't. Damnit. I went to the San Felipe 250 this year though. Not the same, but it was my first time seeing a race and being in mexico.

Funny, the music is the same as around here.

Between all the race ive gone to this would be the 6th and it wasnt the best but its still pretty dam bad ass.

I really want to go to the 500 or 1000 one of these days. Need to make friends with some of you cali guys so I can have someone guide me through the whole process :)

Did you see the General Grabber Hurst Olds 442 driven by James Garner anywhere?

What about the Vic Hickey trucks?

Did you see Ron Johnson, too?

You are confusing the Mexican 1000 Rallye and the SCORE Tecate 1000. This was the SCORE 1000.

Definitely something to see once.

Oh.

Figured RJ would go try and pimp the Hickey stuff anyways. Just to try and make a name for himself. He's a loser.

so the black step side is yours? got any specs or a build up on it? looks like a nice little pre-runner...:thumb:

Yeah my truck, no build thread at all, 383 sbc, th350 shift kit, 10/12 bolt 4.10's posi rear, custom bumpers, cab cage, engine cage, bilstein all 4 corners, custom interior nothing fancy but handles pretty damn good for a semi pre runner.

Awesome pics.

What are you running for springs/suspension bot?

Front springs are a 4" skyjacker softride pack, diy4x shackles ans fush kit and bilstein bypasses unknown valving.
Rear stock leafs and bilstein 2.5 shocks 360/80 valving.

Rides good off road although i could never go over woops or jump like full pre runners.

How did you get hooked up with people down there? I am wanting to make a trip down and do similar to what you did, mainly to meet people and learn how it all works. Finding information about it and how to get more involved is pretty hard to do on the internet, surprisingly.
