Ideas on vibration sources

Recently I have started using liquid Teflon to seal splined yokes. It works. You should be able to use Teflon and lock tight.
When I switched from a yoke to a small pilot flange I had to get a smaller od nut to fit with a socket
Hey Wes, can you tell me more about sealing splined yokes? I have a slip that constantly weeps and throws oil. Replaced the seal and it still does it.
Thx

There is a babbet style bearing(bushing) in the tail shaft that keeps the slip yoke centered in the seal. This bushing probably has some where and is allowing the slip yoke to wobble some.
Another possibility is the slip yoke may have a grove worn in it where the seal rides.
The seal in the tail housing might be allowing oil around the outside edge. I use a small bit of flange seal around the edge of the seal when installing new seals. Make sure the aluminum isn't scored or damaged.
