I just got around to checking these axles I bought but have no clue as to what I'm loking at and hoping it;s obvious and the ck5 community can help.

So here is my back14 bolt that is definetly a 4.55555 (41-9) can you detrimine if it's a detroit?

The front is suppose to be a limited slip and is definetly a 4.55555 (41-9) can you detrimine if it's a limited slip from the pictures?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks I guess all cucv 1028 weren't a limited slip like my research suggested no matter I'm fine with an open 60 with 37k on it.;)

It might still have been in a 1028. I have seen a few that were not posi. I have also seen the M trucks missing the Detroit. You really never know what you will find in them.

I think it's possible that the front diff is indeed a Trac-Lock but it's hard to tell for sure from the pictures. All of the clutch and pressure plates are sandwiched between the side gears and the case, so there are no springs or anything visible in the center of the diff to distinguish it from an open diff like most other posi units. In the one pic it looks like there could be a clutch pack between the side gear and carrier.

Easiest way to verify is to lock both hubs and spin one side by hand. If both side hubs/rotors/wheel ends spin the same direction then likely a posi.

I guess we will see then but I had to rob the hubs for my 91 Dodge D61:doah:
