Idle Air Control help

I have a 1994 GMC 1500 with 350, 5.7l TBI. I have been having a little issue with a rough idle, nothing big, but something I want to try and get it smoother. I went out and bought a new IAC valve and put it in and it seemed to work fine. I didn't disconect the battery, and I turned the ignition on for twenty seconds for the computer to read it and then shut it off for 10 sec. Then it started just fine. I let it idle for about 15 min after the install. The next morning it would not start, and had to give it a lot of gas and hold the gas down to keep it going. Did I do something wrong, or could it be just a bad ICA that I got?

I put the old one back in and it is running ok again. I will exchange the ICA this weekend.

Good to hear you figured it out. I was kind of wanting to know what was wrong because I am trying to learn all the tbi stuff I can. Is it safe to assume you are from salina, ks?

I think your supposed to reset it after installing the IAC.
