C5 is a Vette, K5 is a useful 4x4.

If a 4x4 Blazer is a K5, is a 4x2 Blazer a C5?

GM called all blazers a K5 if you look at the 69 to 72 service manuel it even makes not of this, may have somethimg to do with there not being any 2 wheel drives made till late 71. From 73 up the blazer is call a 2 door wagon in the service books and the suburban is call justa wagon, even my 2001's owners book calls it a wagon., there are no C5 emblems in LMC or Chevy duty toy books.

I think that technically a 2wd blazer is designated as a c5. Thats where my vote goes. I bet GM just didnt want to produce a different badnge for the 2 wheel drive model. But it just makes sense that it would be called a c5. It is in line with chevy nameing scheme.
