I am getting ready to purchase a bunch of parts for the front end of a 99 Tahoe OBS. I know it needs new ball joints as you can see the movement in them. Last time I tried to have it aligned they said the Control Arm bushings needed to be done before they could align it. I am not sure about it, but if I am going to have it all apart I may as well. Brake rotors are warped (horrible wobble during slow breaking) which I am sure is multiplied by other worn parts.
I have read about these "knock outs" but have no idea what or where they are. What is the difference between welded/forged lower Control arms? How do I tell which I have? I want to do 99% of this myself and just pay for the alignment so any advice/tips/tricks/writeups would be super helpful as I am more of a straight axle kind of guy
Idler, Pitman arm and TRE 's seem good and were replaced right after we bought it.
This is what I am going to do
U/L Ball Joints (have been replaced before) Bolted in (Moog of course)
U/L Control Arm Bushings (brand?)
Rotors (turned hopefully)
Pads (brand/opinions?)
Alignment
Thanks for any help. This thing is all ****ed up and drives like crap.

Now I can devote all my time and mechanical efforts to fixing my trucks instead of hers
