When I first turn it its really hard to turn enough to start. If I have to do it a 2nd , 3rd or 4th time its real easy to turn( my choke isnt working). What might be wrong, where should I look or lube?

Exactly.may gum up as dust gets in there
Thats a real problem here in the deseart.wd40 shouldnt hurt anything if left in there....it was originally intended as electrical contact cleaner, but may gum up as dust gets in there
Just put a new lock cylinder in. They're only about 15.00 and only take about 10 minutes to install.

How do I get to it? Being disabled I might need to get some one(wife :O ) to do it.Try something for me. Even though it appears that spraying the lock cylinder made it better, the real problem is probably the slide that controls the lock mechanism for the steering wheel. The first time you try to turn the cylinder, it has to pull that lock rod back, then even if you try three or four more times afterwards it will be easy to turn. If it is this, try spraying (even though it is a pain) the actual slide and gear mechanism at the far end of the lock cylinder. This is a pretty common problem.
that is the problem with my truck right now... just havent done anything about it yet...Try something for me.
