Ok here's the deal after letting my truck sit all winter with a BRAND new engine I go out to crank it up yesterday and she fired right up like a dream then reality hit and water started squirting from the side of the head or so it looks like the side of the head. So did the engine just have the gasket dry up and cause a leak out the side of the head? But the engine sure did sound good and seemed to not be mixing oil and water(was'nt a white mixture from the exhaust or chocolate milk from the oil). Any suggestions would be great. P.S. I graduate the Police academy in 6 weeks.....

mine did that from the left sid of the motor it was a freeze plug that the gm dealer didnt put in with the crate motor i bought.

I hope you had antifreeze in it - I have seen blocks crack below and parallel to the head. Does it leak (while full) with the rad cap off?

Freeze plugs should be called casting plugs

I am pretty sure it is from where the head and block meet but It was dark out so I'll take another look. I did have coolant in it and it did not get hot on the gage. Im just gonna put a little insurance in it and replace the head gasket for the engines sake. I'll be back to member status hopefully soon depending on finances Im sure we all know that issue!!

Another thing is I need the part # for the Hydraulic clutch line, the line going from the tranny to the slave cylinder. If anyone can get that for me that would be GRRRRRREAT!!!!

Well tim is gone now, so hopefully someone else knows it. So have they given you trouble at the parts store? It's sad sometimes, their inability to look stuff up.

I will beat it and give you 50 bucks for that truck. I seen it in person once, when the paint was all nice and purty. Is it still that purty?
